It's a long way down.

Life boats hold 150 people each.  Or so they told us at the mandatory safety seminar on day 1.

Just in case...

We didn't need it.

The ship's officers were all very well trained in Greece, where the Celebrity line was first formed by the Chandris family.  That's why the brand is marked with an "X" for Chandris in Greek lettering, apparently.

View from Deck 4

A little cool and windy on deck 4 but great location for watching Dal's porpoises following us.

Looking down on the aft lounge off deck 10. Great teak furniture.

That's the port of Seattle in the background.

Welcome to the Infinity...

Stateroom welcome bundle... fresh fruit and champagne.
That's the little desk/vanity in the background.

Stateroom 8057

This is stateroom 8057 on the port side forward, but not as far forward as the forward staircase/elevators.

For those thinking of booking on a Celebrity ship, this is deck 8, concierge class 2A.

Great location and quiet with unobstructed views from the veranda.
I'm told if you get seasick, you're better off on deck 6 or below, however...!

Puget Sound to the south from deck 11.

Leaving Seattle

Beautiful afternoon with the M.V. Infinity at dock in downtown Seattle.

On to Alaska! Leaving Seattle on the M.V. Infinity

A quick blog to show family and friends pictures of my cruise to southeast Alaska on the Celebrity cruiseship "Infinity" in August 2010.

We left Seattle, Pier 66 on Friday, August 20th.  Ports of call included Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway in Alaska, and would have included Victoria, British Columbia, but the winds were too high to dock.  The total travel distance was 2,050 nautical miles.
