Alaska's "Blue Canoes"

That's what the locals call the Alaska state ferries:  blue canoes!  This is one of their new ones, a high speed catamaran, from Anchorage, heading into Auke Bay, near Juneau.

We were heading out to look for hump back whales on a rainy, windy afternoon.
